World Card Making Day -- Sketch & Video

World Card Making Day is here!

The day that we take some time out of our hectic

schedule and craft something (preferably a card)....

Ha!

Odds are the average crafter doesn't celebrate...

*BUT*...

it is a great day to check out some

amazing inspiration on the web

and maybe enter into a few contests!

Today at the shop I have some inspiration for you...

a video...

and even a sketch!

I'm not too big of a sketch person but I do like them for

fast and easy cards... you can makes lots of different cards

based on *one* simple idea...

Check out my idea for this...

Just a simple little card sketch from my sketch book.

And with some love from these two sets:

'Hello Beautiful'

And 'The Core of It'

I created two *very* different cards off of one idea

I could have kept going and going with this simple idea...

I think these cards took about 15 min. and most

of that time was contemplating what patterned paper

I would use...lol... you know the *big*

decisions.

Now, off to the video... I warn you I'm chatty!

I'm working in not feeling like I

have to -talk- the whole time.

Oh, well... I'm a total video work in progress!

Playing catch up!

Hey Yo!

It's been 'one of *those* weeks'...
you know, the weeks where

you catch up on everything but loose track
of the day to day things that

have to be done. Yep, that's my week for you.
It's been *really* productive

but, some things just didn't get done...
like yesterdays post!

Ugh!

So, for like 3 minutes can we
pretend that it's wednesday?

What a great way to use *lots* of the set...

I know when I ink up

most of a set I feel so good that I'm getting

good use out of something I bought

with my hard earned cash!

Gnome-body like Leigh Ann!

I love the way she colored in the mushrooms... I'm totally trying that!!

I just couldn't resist printing out the template and giving it a try...

Whoooo? .... It's Monday!

Eh, let's skip over the whole Monday thing... shall we?!

Let's just dive right into the Sweet Inspiration for the day!

Today's sweet inspiration is brought to you by....

Ms. Savannah

I heart her!

She used 'Melvin and Vernie' (my personal favorite set!)

**and, she had a few tiny helpers...

Melvin and Vernie *never* looked so good!!

And *together* ( I'm pretty sure they helped! ) they came up with

Awww!!! Sooo cute!

(Maybe not *as* cute as the little one's ... but still, CUTE!)

Savannah... she's one talented lady... but, beyond being

talented... she's just a good person! Through and through.

We love having her design for us!

And hopefully soon, she won't be the *only*

person on our you tube channel.

Do the Sweet Friday Dance

Let's do the Sweet Friday dance!!

(what's funniest about that is... while I was typing that I was singing it

in my head and my butt was wiggling in my chair...lol... that's Nicole for ya)

Anyway!

Savannah is rocking our socks off today with a pretty amazing project...

That's a peek... just to wet your friday taste buds.

Savannah is really a creative designer. She has an eye for what looks good and boy, does it show in her work.

This week she used the 'Sweet Tooth' set...

She created *the* most amazing project...

A tooth holder!

Umm, yeah.... that's simply amazing.

And if that little beauty wasn't enough... look at this altered candy bar!

Drooling! So darn cute!

On a personal note... Savannah is just *the* nicest girl you'll ever met!

Operation Julie's Smile

Hello All!

Happy Weekend!

I'm here with some bitter sweet news... our sweet friend and amazing

coordinator extraordinaire, Julie Ranae, has been under the weather of sorts.

Poor Julie has been having horrible teeth issues... here is a little bit about

what's been happening...

Many may know that a few weeks ago, Julie Ranae had to have emergency oral surgery resulting in the removal of her two front teeth. The dentist at that time believed the best course of action would be to remove the rest of her teeth and replace them with permanents. (as to avoid *years* of dental work) Relieved at finding a solution to this major dental problem .. she visited the office for dental surgery the week. Unfortunately, it wasn't the visit she was expecting. After the consultation and scheduling the surgery, the surgeon's office informed her that she would need to bring $4000 back to the appointment with her and they would proceed. This amount would not include the 'dentures' to follow.

Here Julie is today, sitting without front teeth that were pulled with the belief that they would be replaced immediately.

It is an overwhelming experience for our dear friend and one that I hope our creative community can help with.

Here at sweet stamp shop we couldn't image one of our own

dealing with such a great burden alone... we *knew* we had to help!

So, along with LOTS of other companies we're putting together

a good ol fashioned donation hop!

Let's help Julie get her smile back!!

There will be a benefit blog hop called

'Operation Julie's Smile' that will take place Oct 7-9.

There are a variety of

companies and design teams

who will be participating in this hop

to help raise funds for this benefit.

So far, nearly $2,100.00 in prizes have been made

available and will be awarded for both

participants and those who donate.

Operation Julie's Smile is now accepting

designers/teams who would like to be a part of the benefit hop.

If you are interested

in getting involved in this creative fundraising event,

The deadline to be a part of the hop is Wednesday, Sept 28th.

Participants will be notified of the blog hop order between Oct 3rd-5th.

This blog hop is an opportunity to have fun, feature your design work and raise money for a friend in need. A donation button

will be made available to all who participate.

We already have the donation button in the top right corner of our

blog for easy donation access... AND it doesn't matter if you donate today... tomorrow... or durning the hop... *everyone* who donates will be entered to win one of *several* BIG goodie bags (or boxes :)

While I would *love* to swoop in and write Julie a HUGE check... it's just not possible ... BUT, *together* we CAN!
